Zoho Books rolls out updates every month to enhance the user experience and improve functionality. The updates for September 2024 are focused on improving navigation, streamlining processes, and offering more flexibility for users of the Indian Edition. Here’s a summary of the latest features: 1. Enhanced Keyboard Navigation Zoho Books now includes a new Navigate-to feature, improving accessibility for users who rely on keyboard navigation. Once the app loads, this feature can be activated by pressing the tab key or using the shortcut (Option or Alt) + 0. This feature allows users to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to the main section of the page. For example, if you want to navigate to the Total Receivables in the dashboard, you can simply select Main Content from the Navigate-To dropdown, skipping the headers and sidebar. 2. Branch-Specific Value Differences in Journals Users can now view the differences in the credit and debit values for each branch associated with the line items of a manual journal. After saving the journal, the branch-specific value difference will be displayed on the manual journal’s details page, improving tracking and reporting for multi-branch organizations. 3. Set Criteria for Custom Buttons A new feature allows users to set criteria for custom buttons. With this functionality, you can control the visibility and restrict access based on specific conditions. How to Set Criteria for Custom Buttons: Go to Settings > Select a Module > Custom Buttons > +New. Create a custom button. Under When to show this button?, select Show based on criteria and click +New Criteria. This provides greater control and flexibility over the user interface. 4. Print/Download e-Way Bills (Most Awaited Update) You can now print or download e-Way Bills as PDFs in a simplified format. This feature is available for generated, cancelled, and expired e-Way Bills, simplifying the documentation process for businesses handling e-Way Bills regularly. 5. Bulk Download e-Invoices in JSON Format Zoho Books now allows users to bulk download invoices in JSON format. This file can be uploaded directly to the e-Invoice portal for e-invoicing without modifications, saving users time and reducing errors in manual processes. How to Export Invoices in JSON Format: Go to Invoices > Select one or multiple invoices > More > Export as JSON for E-Invoicing. 6. Import Vendor Credit Notes A much-requested feature, users can now import vendor credit notes into Zoho Books. The imported files can include details such as GST, TDS, and TCS, along with vendor details, item details, taxes, and reference bills, improving record-keeping and accuracy.
